Dr. Civetti says that one of the best things about dentistry is that it is always changing, so it’s consistently interesting. The science that supports the field is constantly evolving, that is why she works diligently to attend the most up to date continuing education courses to provide the best care possible for her dental patients. She absolutely loves what she does, who she works with, and all of the different people she has the honor to treat day in and day out. She is excited to meet you and show you what truly passionate and comprehensive dental care can do for your smile.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Civetti grew up working in the dental field with her mom and a family friend who was her dentist growing up. She joked with them that she would never go into dentistry, but 10 years down the road, Dr. Civetti realized that she likes science, taking care of people, and being creative. All of this pointed straight to dentistry, and today, she couldn’t be happier with her choice of career.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Before going to dental school, Dr. Civetti attended and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she played basketball, and was only the second female player to be admitted into their hall of fame. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Science degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry at Houston, graduating with Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors.
After dental school, she returned to Florida where she sought out incredible, Ivy League mentors who poured into her and helped her further her knowledge in dentistry for many years. She is thankful her mentors have shared such wisdom with her and continue to do so.
Currently, she is attending the Kois Center, a post graduate program based on the most current scientific research in the dental field. She plans to complete over 300 hours of training in this program over the course of the year while learning from the best educators and dentists in the world. Dr. Civetti is also a member of three study clubs in the area where she attends regular lectures with colleagues from the area to continue expanding her dental knowledge.
